13 of the Best Premium WordPress Themes in 2012

We have all seen the thousands of best premium WordPress themes available, designed in various colors, and functionality. This give you the ability to find a theme that is tailored to your needs whether you are starting a website for a magazine, portfolio, news or personal blogs styles.  But with all of the choices, how do you know which ones are actually the BEST premium WordPress themes?

Selecting the best premium WordPress themes that tailor to your brand can be tough sometimes, but if you know to the right place  you sure can find the best premium WordPress themes for you company.

WordPress is one of the most popular content management systems for bloggers, professional websites, businesses and even top companies are now using WordPress to power their online websites. A large majority of the websites you view every day are created with WordPress, and as of December 2011 there are 69 million sites running on WordPress. This statistic shows how powerful WordPress is as a blogging platform and CMS.

What makes premium WordPress themes so great?  Take a look at Themeforest and some of the top earning authors.  You will find that those who create the best premium WordPress themes are making a lot of money.  In order to get a website of this quality, custom made, does not fit within the budget of most medium sized, not to mention small sized businesses.  Premium WordPress themes provide the ability to present a cutting edge, professional website, at a very reasonable cost.  It’s much cheaper to hire a developer to re-brand a WordPress theme than it is to have them create an entirely new & custom WordPress theme from scratch.

I just purchased the DK theme after reading this review. I use WordPress and the DK theme on my cheap virtual private server ($10 a month) and found after installing it I had to upgrade my memory from 256MB to 512MB. The upgrade was worth it, nice and speedy.

I have started using this theme for my new fullscreen photo blog http://www.optix.net.

While I love almost everything the DK theme offers, for my personal taste, I found the animations for the blog too slow. I changed them in the custom.js file from 400, 500 and 600 all to 100.
I also had a hard time getting the music to work. My mistake. It wasn’t clear to me that all three files, MP3 , M4A and OGG had to be uploaded in order for the music to start working. I have since removed it to save loading times.

As a hobby photographer, I have photos, lots of them. I put them up on 500px.com, flickr and google+. I wanted more control. This WordPress theme enables me to showcase my work fullscreen. I love it. I have visited and tried many WordPress themes and blogs and they all seem to use the thumbnail approach. I want my pictures showcasing as large as possible.
Other fullscreen WordPress themes lack a lot of features. DK is the theme for me. I love it. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks for the feedback Thomas. For photographers, I think this theme does an incredible job of showcasing quality photos.

I’m happy that you had the knowledge/courage to customize the javascript file to your likings! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may run into.
